Egor Abashkin started dancing in Kishinev,
Moldova at the age of 6.  He continued his
career and as a teen became the world
champion as a part of the Moldova's national
formation team.  Egor was the Moldavian
amateur champion in both latin and standard.  
in 1999 Egor moved to the US.
Katia Kanevskaya started dancing at 5 in the
Odessa, Ukraine.  Katia also moved to US in
1999 and in the summer of 2000 Egor and
Katia started to dance together.  Both Egor and
Katia used to do 10-dance program in their
native contries but decided to focus on standard
only as it is the favorite style for both.
